    Sunrise bird walk

    June 25, 2017

Listening for grassland bird species in Waimea (Kamuela, Hawai'i) at sunrise was worth waking up before sunrise. The most common and vocal birds this June morning were Gray Francolins, Ring-necked Pheasants, and Black Francolins. The best part of this morning was a close encounter with a foraging short-eared owl.
